Gatherjar
Plans that actually happen.
Gatherjar plans get-togethers of any size, from a dinner date to a school reunion, an arisan or a buka bersama. The host makes one link and shares it in the group chat. Everyone picks the dates and places that work for them, says whether they're coming and what they'll bring. Guests don't need an app or an account.
What it does
- All your events in one place. It warns you when two events you said yes to overlap. Open Gatherjar and your dashboard shows what's next with a countdown, what needs you (a vote, an answer, a payment, people to remind), everything you host, joined or keep the money for, the places your events happen most and the people who come most, with one tap to plan something there or with them.
- One link for everything. Share it on WhatsApp or as a QR code. Guests open it, tap their name (or type it) and answer in one tap.
- One screen to start. Name it and tap the possible days: one day sets the date, a few start a vote. The place, bring list and everything else can be added now or later.
- Pick a date together. Offer some days (or days and times) and everyone taps them on a calendar: once for can, twice for maybe, three times for can’t, or “I can’t make any of these”. The best dates rise to the top with the share of people who can come, and when you pick one, everyone’s vote counts as their answer. Public holidays and long weekends are shown while you choose.
- Choose the place. Set it yourself, give a few options to vote on, or let guests suggest places. The venue finder shows nearby restaurants, cafés, karaoke and more with their Google rating, price and opening hours, and warns you if a place is closed at your event's time. Planning somewhere on another clock, like Lombok from Jakarta? It offers that place's time zone.
- Trips over several days. Pick a first and last day, or let the group vote on date ranges: weekends from Friday to Sunday, or long weekends, which are suggested for you.
- A day-by-day schedule. Add stops to each day with a time, a place from the venue finder and a note. Places are checked against the opening hours for that day.
- Budget. Give each stop a cost per person (a ticket) or shared (a villa, a car). Gatherjar adds it up and shows what each person pays, split among the people who are going, or among the number you expect until that many have said yes.
- Polls that finish themselves. Set a deadline and Gatherjar picks the winner when it passes; if it's a tie, you choose and the answer goes in your group update. Add your own polls for anything else.
- Bring list. List what's needed and guests claim items, so you don't end up with five cakes and no plates. Each item needs one, a few, or anyone; guests say what exactly they're bringing ("lasagna"), and what a guest adds is theirs to bring.
- Seats and waitlist. Set a limit and later guests join a waitlist, moving up in order when someone drops out. Nobody is moved to the waitlist without being asked first, nobody gives up a place without being told who gets it, and whoever moves up is told right away. You can let someone in with one tap.
- Updates for the group chat. One tap writes a WhatsApp message with the leading date and place, who’s going and who hasn’t answered yet, and the link preview shows the latest standings too.
- Plans change, and everyone knows. Move or postpone the date and guests see what it was before, people who said yes are asked again, and the group update says it moved. A new time on the same day or a new restaurant is announced too, without taking back anyone's yes. On the day the page says "Today · in 3 hours" with a "running late?" message; afterwards it turns to who still has to pay and a thank-you for the group.
- It ends with a plan. Once the date is set, guests get one card with “add to my calendar”, directions, what’s still needed on the bring list, their share to pay and a reminder.
- Plan it again. Start next month’s event from last month’s: same name, place, bring list and people, with the usual day of the week suggested.
- Announcements. Post an update: guests with reminders on get a notification, and one tap sends it to the WhatsApp group.
- Money jar. Collect everyone’s share: set the amount per person or per family and how to pay (bank, e-wallet, QRIS). Guests pay you directly and tap “I’ve paid” with a screenshot; you or a treasurer confirm it. Unique amounts make transfers easy to match, and the money report (Pro) shows income, expenses with receipts and the balance. If someone who paid can't come, you mark it refunded or keep it, and the jar stays in step with your account. Gatherjar never touches the money.
- Reminders. Guests can get a notification the day before, when a vote is closing or when something still needs them, never at night. Hosts get ready-made WhatsApp nudges for whoever hasn’t answered, voted or claimed an item, and calendar entries come with alarms.
- Never lose your event. Send your host link to yourself on WhatsApp or by email, or sign in with Google (always optional, for hosts and guests) to see and manage your events from any phone. Hosts can also remove a guest and stop them joining again.
- Made for Indonesia, works anywhere. Indonesian holidays and cuti bersama are built in, buka bersama events can fill in the maghrib time, and prices show in rupiah. Invitations open in the host's language (with a one-tap switch for guests whose phone speaks the other), times use WIB, WITA or WIT, and guests abroad see each time on their own clock and a rough amount in their own currency. Video calls work too: add the Zoom or Meet link and guests get a “Join” button. Other countries get their own holidays.
